When I was in uncomplicated school (thirty+ years ago!) these were a favorite treat served with our school lunches. They were chosen Hollywood Squares. Somehow my mom snagged a copy of the cafeteria's recipe which is identical to this ane EXCEPT it also calls for a 1/2 cup of sweet crumbs. For years, I left this out considering I wasn't exactly sure what that meant. I afterwards discovered that it meant finely crushed cookie or graham crackers. I use graham cracker crumbs (brand sure they are really fine!) and it makes this recipe. It gives the peanut butter layer some substance (without making them dry or crumbly) which makes for much easier cutting. For those of you who accept trouble with the chocolate layer cracking -- let the bars chill until firm, then remove from the frig and permit warm up a tad before cutting. No cracks and smooth cutting. I also add a couple tablespoons of margarine to the chocolate fries before melting. Bask!

For easy cutting, line the pan with wax newspaper or foil. Go out about 1 inch over hang on the ends. Place ingredients inside, permit to set every bit directed. Remove from pan by edges of foil/paper and use a pizza cutter to cut into nice, smooth squares. Nosotros utilise this method with all desserts/bars that need to be cut!
09/24/2001
Very easy to make and anybody loved them. A pain to cut into squares, with the chocolate cracking very hands. Tin get quite messy and frustrating. Propose spooning peanut butter mixture into pocket-sized muffin tins or small newspaper cups, then spoon melted chocolate over. This eliminated the need for cutting.
01/26/2009
If you substitute powdered sugar for the dark-brown sugar the grainy/gritty consistency doesn't occur. Likewise you can put one-half of the chocolate on the bottom of the pan and let set for a few minutes earlier adding the peanut butter mixture and then put the other half of the chocolate on top.
12/25/2001
What a nifty, quick, and easy recipe! My family simply loved them. Next time I volition cut back on the chocolate by one/2 cup, and use Milk Chocolate Fries instead. I am a chocolate lover but the Semi-Sweet fries fabricated them alittle too rich.
01/09/2012
5 stars times x! Crawly recipe and so very easy. I actually doubled the recipe and made in a Large (much larger than 9x13) pan. I added a tbsp of butter to the chocolate as information technology melted to help continue information technology soft and easier to cut later cooled. I also highly advise using a standing mixer if you take i instead of mixing by hand! Takes a lot of arm muscles and all the same may non get the lumps of saccharide smoothed out. I placed parchment paper on bottom of pan and spread the peanuttbutter over, and so cooled it and did the chocolate top the mext mean solar day. Then let that cool equally well. I followed some other reviewers proposition and scored the chocolate as it was cooling to allow for easier cutting with out cracking. This seemed to help. Also, not cutting when the chocolate is common cold volition help to keep them from cracking. Room Temp is fine. Cracking recipe, volition make again and over again.

Yummy! I softened the peanut butter in the microwave for easier mixing. Too not bad with white chocolate fries or milk chocolate:)
12/18/2001
These give me cafeteria lunch flashbacks! I haven't had these bars in YEARS, but i've always wanted to make them. This recipe is really easy, and "wicked good". all "taste testers" have loved them.
01/03/2004
I fabricated these with my 7 year old son for a fun snowy day project and they turned out great! Soooo yummy....your diet doesn't stand a chance! LOL ;) We did increase the chocolate just a tad because we like it a bit thicker but other than that we followed the recipe exactly. If yous like Reese'southward, you will Dearest these. Just obviously yummy! :)
10/23/2010
Oh love, I don't think I'll make these also oft as they are very moreish, difficult to stop nibbling at! I used a practiced quality milk chocolate for the top every bit I don't like dark chocolate. I too used a litle less than the recipe says as I didn't want too thick a layer on pinnacle. I scored the bars while the chocolate was setting, merely before it had hardened, so that the chocolate didn't crack when cutting out the confined. I besides used crunchy peanut butter for added crisis.
01/03/2002
This recipe was richer than I was looking for. Very simple to make, but unless yous are taking the dish to a big gathering, information technology will be difficult to eat all of it.
12/28/2010
Wow- these bars are improve than peanut butter cups! I used the communication of others & added ane/two loving cup of graham cracker crumbs to the peanut butter mixture. I ended up making these confined twice considering the first time I decided I wanted a thicker layer of peanut butter & used an 8X8 pan, just I didn't decrease the chocolate layer. Once the chocolate layer set up, information technology made the confined very hard to cut! Then, darn, I had to keep that batch to myself considering they just weren't pretty enough to share with others! Thank you for sharing!!
03/07/2005
Good and like shooting fish in a barrel, very hard to stop eating them. Simply a piffling soft on the bottom.
09/24/2010
I don't commonly say this, but these deserve more than than 5 stars. Made per the recipe, except that I just used an 18 oz jar of extra crunchy peanut butter--the whole affair. (it was all I had on paw) So, I don't know if it was as well much or besides petty, because they turned out slap-up. The only other change I made was putting a few tablespoons of butter in the chocolate chips to proceed them soft. Next time I recollect I'll endeavour milk chocolate chips. Yum!!!
03/14/2010
These are always a hit, wherever I take them! I omit the dark-brown carbohydrate and utilise 3 cups of powdered sugar instead, and add 1/2 loving cup graham cracker crumbs (as suggested past another reviewer- give thanks y'all) Otherwise they are fashion as well soft. I sometimes use a combo of milk chocolate and semi-sweetness chocolate fries to cover the elevation or all milk chocolate fries. Scrumptious!!!
03/ten/2013
These are delicious, although I decreased the butter and used dark chocolate. No demand to buy Reese's Cups when you can make them in your own kitchen!
06/15/2010
This was a very skillful, quick recipe. I did take other's suggestions and used i/2 semi-sweet and ane/2 milk chocolate chips. I also put some chocolate on the lesser, and then the rest on the superlative. It is a very rich dessert. I would make the post-obit recommendations...brand it in a larger pan (they were very thick) and too sift the powdered sugar. I had problems getting the smaller lumps to dissolve. Overall a great recipe, as I had everything I needed on hand. I will make these again.
12/23/2010
Just fabricated them..and they are great! I did soften the peanut butter in the microwave and that helped with the stirring and used milk chocolate instead of semi sweet chips..semi sweet would have been too rich. I cutting mine into small squares and wish I had left them into "bars" the presentation on my dessert tray would have looked better
03/17/2012
Awesome! I must admit, when I was mixing the "concoction" I didn't retrieve they would plough out. It seemed very runny without the usual graham cracker crumbs. I refrigerated the PB layer for xxx minutes, and information technology hardened nicely. I used 50/50 semisweet & milk chocolate chips with a dollop of PB for the topping. That's what I utilize for Special Chiliad bars & love it. I took the advice of others & lined my pan with wax newspaper to make removing confined easier (worked neat!) and scored the chocolate while semi-soft and cut before it hardened completely. I had no issues with cracking. Flavor is excellent! Creamy & delicious! I will store these in the fridge every bit they get "melty" chop-chop at room temp. Perfect for my friend with Celiac affliction.
01/04/2012
So easy and delicious! Very much like Reese'southward cups. I followed the recipe exactly and pressed into a pan lined with parchment paper. After the confined had cooled a bit, I refrigerated them overnight. They pulled out of the pan easily with the parchment paper, making cutting easier. (Warning: they did non cutting into perfect niggling rectangles - this didn't modify the taste :)
04/15/2012
I made this because they were gluten gratuitous. I followed the recipe as specified. They were OK. My son loved them. I expected more based on the reviews.
eleven/05/2010
i use 2-three tablespoons butter when melting chocolate,1/2 milk and 1/two regular chips
06/25/2005
The chocolate had to be put in the refridgerator to set up. The filling was gritty with little peanut butter gustation.
05/07/2011
YUM! This is crazy easy and super delicious. I've taken it to 2 pot lucks and both times they disappeared. I'll be making it again, for sure!
02/12/2011
Super fast and easy to brand! So delicious! Also, I was attending at political party where the hostess needed gluten-gratis fare (of which I am generally unfamiliar) and this was a huge hitting with everyone.
08/16/2010
Fabulous dessert! I followed the recipe as exact equally I could, though I used only about two 1/iv cups confectioners' sugar since that is all that I had. I used flossy peanut butter with 1 cup of each semi & milk chocolate chips (just considering I prefer more than of a milk chocolate flavor). I did utilize a jelly roll pan and am glad that I did...anything thicker would have been too much and way to sweet. Once pouring the peanut butter mixture in the pan, I put it in the freezer for about ten minutes, I and then added the chocolate on elevation. Once that started to harden (virtually 8-x min), I scored information technology. I had perfect confined with no cracks or crumbles. Very piece of cake recipe!
06/xiii/2009
I'm giving this iii stars, not cause it tastes bad or the recipe is bad simply only because, its AWFULLY sweet, it could do with a good reduction in the amount of sugar added...i think 1cup of confectioners should suffice along with the brown sugar... But otherwise, these bars were very well received and were blissfully easy to brand and cutting :D
09/07/2008
These were good-tasted like Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. I used the Hershey chocolate chips. But, they turned out crunchy from the chocolate-brown sugar. I recall next time I will melt the brown saccharide in the butter. I put them in the fridge and they cut easier.
eleven/14/2009
WOW! These were delicious! Only similar one of the other reviewers, this reminds me of my favoirte elementary care for and effectually 30 years ago too! I did add together the graham crackers, one/2 a cup finely crushed to the peanut butter mix and I call back information technology really did help. I fabricated these for my friends husband who is a peanut butter/chocolate fanatic and he idea they were outstanding! I will be making these again, no doubt!!
11/thirty/2010
Delish. I didnt put as much of the icing sugar in though...and I used chunky peanut butter crusade I like the texture of it. Simply it was definetly family approved and Ive got more than in the freezer (get-go batch didnt last long in this house!) right now which will be put in tins for christmas baked goods for family unit and friends
04/10/2004
This recipe is good. If you lot utilize Skippy peanut butter this recipe is fine, merely if you go cheaper stuff (i.eastward. the generic stuff) you won't want to use as much crispy rice since the cheap stuff is drier than the rest aforementioned matter if yous employ crunchy (which you tin do, it just mixes harder). If yous're going to make these though, I say become ahead and splurge on the more expensive stuff.
08/24/2012
so I read the reviews starting time and decided to address the effect of a "soft" bottom by making a cookie bar. I lined an 8 X 8 pan with parchment paper. Bought a box of chocolate fleck cookie mix and followed the directions on the box, added in a few drops of water to loosen information technology a bit. Spread the cookie dough on the bottom and baked it for about 15 minutes til golden brown. I then reduced Daw's recipe by half. Cooled the cookie base til solid simply still warm, spread on the peanut butter mixture and smoothed information technology out. Let it absurd until information technology was set, melted Milk chocolate chips and spread information technology on top. Popped em in the freezer to set so cut into small-scale bars and enjoyed. Anybody enjoyed them.
12/13/2010
Over 40 years ago, this was the treat of selection for junior loftier pot lucks. Easy to make! Cracking for any occasion.
12/20/2012
Seriously the BEST peanut butter confined I've always made. So yummy! So much meliorate than those made with graham crackers. These are rich and shine. I left them at room temperature.
x/27/2012
Super quick and easy to brand, and the fact that they're gluten free is a large bonus. I'll definitely exist adding these to my recipe box
07/23/2011
Then very practiced.
06/04/2010
These melt in your oral cavity! Tin't wait to make them again!
04/01/2011
Perfection! I replaced the brownish carbohydrate with powdered, and used role semi-sweetness chocolate chips and used an actress-dark bar for the rest. I added a touch of butter to the melted chocolate to make it easy to spread. Fifty-fifty direct from the fridge, these cut well, with no cracking.
07/26/2004
This is good, merely it'south so sweetness you can only eat a couple of small pieces at a time. They would probably be better with some crushed rice cereal. I cutting them, layered them in waxed newspaper in a Tupperware dish, and put them in the freezer.
08/27/2010
After we put them in the refrigerator for a while, they were a little easier to cut.Delicious, the more than you let it absurd the ameliorate it tastes.
09/30/2010
I used a set made graham ready crust for the lesser of this dessert. Very like shooting fish in a barrel, cheap, and yummy! Groovy to take to a covered dish affair or to make with the kids!
05/12/2008
These are rich and wonderful. Very much similar a peanut butter loving cup. My kids are gluten costless and casein free so the desserts we tin make are limited. This is nice because it uses mainstream ingredients (I use Trader Joe'south semi-sugariness chocolate chips) and comes together quickly.
12/22/2010
Delicious! Very rich so I cutting them into small bites. Definitely a keeper!
07/21/2011
These are amazing and taste EXACTLY like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, but i but had a little less than half the peanutbutter the recipe called for and but had milk chocolate fries so i estimated one-half of all the ingredients and so perchance it was luck that they turned out and so darn good but i dont care they are impossible to finish eating.
10/27/2008
Piece of cake to make. I halved everything and stuck it in the freezer for one-half an hour to set. The peanute butter was notwithstanding a bit as well gooey.
07/20/2011
Soooooooo yummy! The peanut butter portion is 1 of the best I have tasted yet.
11/17/2010
Better than a Peanut Butter cup! After reading the reviews, I decided to add 1 cup of cracker crumbs to the peanut butter base to cut the sweet. I used Breton crackers, merely I am sure saltines would work out well too. Information technology added some texture and without them, this dessert would probably be too sugariness. Oh, I also just used the powdered carbohydrate (omitted the brownish sugar).
12/31/2011
I make these for every effect, and people ever dearest them! The only change I brand is doubling the chocolate. If I have fourth dimension, I put them into private mini cupcake liners - cute and delicious!
01/04/2011
I Rate THIS A V PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE JUST Go TOGETHER.
09/18/2010
Fabulous! I didn't have to change a affair in this recipe!! My son and hubby loved these. I volition defiantly make them over again!!
12/sixteen/2010
Delicious and very similar to Reese'due south. I followed the hints of using butter with the melted chocolate, lining the pan with tin foil, and scoring the bars before they were fully chilled to make information technology easier to cutting. All suggestions seemed to pay off! Also, many people seemed to say they plant them very rich. I used all natural peanut butter, made from just peanuts and information technology was just the right amount of sweetness. I likewise used milk chocolate for the superlative.
08/21/2011
Sinfully delicious, and super easy.
12/11/2014
Like shooting fish in a barrel and yummy..... All my Family and friends love this!!!! Great for Christmas party Thank you....
03/04/2011
THE BEST DESSERT EVER Made!
04/05/2011
This was admittedly crawly!! Thanks So So much for sharing. I rarely leave a review so that'southward how good these are. Every bit many others have stated as well - I added the 1/two cup of graham cracker crumbs, definitely put them in the fridge to harden. I as well did the 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 semi-sweet chocolate chips. Nigh importantly - cutting them into SMALLER portions. My friends at my bday party said they were glad I cut them upward because they are then rich! Just wonderful! I propose nigh 1X1 inches or slightly larger! Serve them individually in little candy/muffin tins! Cheers so much for sharing!
05/10/2009
Yummy! Very adept! Information technology was a footling oily, but was delicious!
06/23/2009
Very popular with my family. They loved it! I will be making this once again. It is as well like shooting fish in a barrel not to. :)
02/19/2012
Oh. My. Gosh. I used my favorite ultra-smoothen peanut butter, and night chocolate and I tin can't finish nibbling on these! They are so good! I besides skipped the vanilla, and I will omit the granulated sugar next time, too. Totally yum!
02/17/2009
Make sure you add the graham cracker crumbs, it helps absorb some of the moisture. It is also very sugariness, it is offset past the semi-sweet chocolate. I would apply less sugar side by side time. Considering our oven is out of commission this was a corking dessert recipe.
07/09/2012
well this sounded good, i have a similar recipe called "Impostors" which are like Reeses bar:):):) they rock...I am not new to baking or cooking and I consider myself a pretty expert cook but for some reason this flopped for me.....I retrieve it was the brown sugar they turned out grainy!
03/sixteen/2005
These were okay - I had higher expectations, though, and was hoping for something a little less dry out. My married man liked them, merely I could tell they weren't his favorite either.
09/07/2010
These are simply like the ones I had in uncomplicated schoolhouse. If you like Reese Cups, y'all will Honey this. So easy and practiced. Didn't alter the recipe at all!
11/21/2013
Super easy and quick and it makes enough for a crowd. Cut them modest considering they're rich. Put a little butter (or y'all could use coconut oil) into the chocolate to brand information technology a little softer and easier to cut.
10/fifteen/2012
perfection!
01/22/2005
Excellent! I loved this recipe. I did however make a shortbread crust to outset some of the sugariness of the recipe and it turned out smashing. Also, due to one of the reviewers having a problem with the chocolate cracking, I did add about i 1/ii tsp of shortening to go far smoother and less likely to cleft. It turned out great!
06/04/2010
Similar a huge Reese'due south Atomic number 82 cup! I never accept whatever left when I take these anywhere! I exercise, however, employ less powdered sugar than called for.
08/03/2009
Very tasty and rather messy eating! Halved recipe and put in 8x8 dish. Added one/4 cup graham cracker crumbs as suggested by some other reviewer. Delicious! Will be making once again.
11/08/2014
These are incredible! I made them exactly by the recipe and the only issue that I had was that the chocolate layer on peak was hard to cut without breaking and so the bars/pieces were not the prettiest. Next time, I will add some vegetable oil to the chocolate to keep it soft enough to cut.
12/22/2009
OK, can we say amazing? I expected something like a no-bake cookie, simply the end result is definitely a candy -- creamy yumminess with a wonderful chocolate blanket on acme. Information technology helps to line the pan with foil beginning for piece of cake removal and slicing. All-time refrigerated, IMO.
06/10/2011
These turned out pretty good,I volition defiently make these over again
10/02/2008
I fabricated these exactly every bit written. To clarify, the peanut butter I used was the smooth (or creamy) kind. I don't think I've always had these earlier, let lonely made them. They tasted smashing! Even though the recipe is piece of cake, I was a little worried, since I'd never made annihilation quite like it, and information technology was a bit messy to set up. I did have one minor quibble with my results: the peanut butter layer had a slightly grainy taste (due to the brownish sugar), but this was most probable my particular problem, since my brown sugar was slightly stale out, and perhaps I didn't mix the peanut butter mixture long plenty (I sure thought I had!) Merely the combination of flavors was slap-up, pretty close to a "peanut butter loving cup". I kept the results refrigerated, which indeed fabricated it a picayune hard to cut neatly into servings, and to get them out of the pan. They were pretty sweet and rich, and so I'm glad I fabricated 12 servings last me about 9 days or so. I guess in that location are a lot of recipes like this, but this first-fourth dimension experience is shut to existence an awesome, 5-star recipe. Thanks!
02/eleven/2014
I requite this 5 starts this is mine and my bestfriends favortie thing to make and nosotros make information technology similar in one case a calendar week... Kinda addicted to them
10/15/2000
These peanut butter bars are easy to set up and they gustation great. Definatly a favorite in my household.
04/03/2011
perfect. easy. delicious.
07/12/2009
I was looking for something quick and easy to feed a mega chocolate-peanut butter pregnancy craving... Found it! I had everything I needed in the firm already which is such a plus 8:30pm Sunday night. These were really easy, fast and definitely really rich! Milk chocolate might be skilful to attempt instead of semi-sweet. But and then again I would probably eat the whole tray that fashion...
06/11/2016
Made them for my hubby to take to a meeting. He said they were devoured in no time.
07/08/2018
TERRIFIC! So quick/easy/delicious. I i/2ed the recipe...the first fourth dimension I made information technology...(hehehe...we're all watching our weight, in my household...and I *knew* these would be too tempting!)...and I did notice that the lesser peanut butter layer [even subsequently chilling] was a fleck crumbly and when I 'tried' to cut it into perfect squares---it was difficult. NO Affair *grins*...they tasted Delicious...and even my husband (who is NOT a sweets eater) and has worked in a candy factory...said they were "SO Good-D-D!". Will definitely make these (and eat these!) once again!
12/25/2014
Cutting the squares after yous spread the chocolate.
02/25/2015
I made this for my family unit and everyone loved it.
12/07/2015
These are ridiculously good! I use crunchy peanut butter to add a little texture, but I have no doubt that creamy would taste succulent as well. They are extremely rich and then I unremarkably cut them into smaller pieces, which has worked well for bite-size dessert at small-scale gatherings. I line the pan with parchment paper as recommended past some other reviewer; this makes removing the bars from the pan a lot easier. I besides score the chocolate when it's just starting to harden (about fifteen minutes after I put them in the freezer), which makes cutting easier later on when they're thoroughly cooled.
09/29/2012
Love this no broil recipe! Quick, unproblematic, and yummy!!! I add a couple of tablespoons of oil to the chocolate when melting to give it a more liquified texture. It makes the chocolate easier to smoothen over the top of the peanut butter mixture.
07/25/2008
A*W*E*S*O*K*E thats all I can say. I didn't have the chocolate to exercise the topping, i but sprinkled chocolate shavings on height while it was still warm, oh then practiced. I can't look to try information technology with the chocolate!
03/19/2015
Love these peanut butter bars, very yummy and easy to make. Merely problem is the chocolate hardens to where its difficult to cut,so I tried using ane cup chocolate fries instead of two and that seemed to assistance.
11/03/2017
So good! And gluten complimentary! My married man loves Reese's, and these are very similar to that. They are very rich and are all-time cold. Yummy!
09/09/2009
This recipe is delicious! I merely used about 1 cup of chocolate fries then the chocolate layer would be very thin. They turned out perfect and taste like Reese'due south Peanut Butter Cups! Very like shooting fish in a barrel recipe - I'll definitely make this over again!
02/27/2009
I didn't take the chocolate chips, so I used cocoa pulverization instead, I'm sure if I had used fries information technology would've tasted amend, so I'll rate the filling considering I had all the ingredients. It was VERY sweet, but it nonetheless had a good flavour, since my topping was nearly sugarless, it fabricated a good friction match to accept these 2 together. I had a hard time mixing it completely, and then I just used my easily to mix information technology, and and so froze the whole thing, and it turned out not bad! Very good when I accept spur of the moment sweet cravings! Thanks!
12/xviii/2008
These are awesome. My 10 yr former daughter fabricated these all by her self. She didn't add together the ingredients quick plenty to the melted butter so she had to add together a piffling more than butter and heat back up and stirring until smooth. very easy!
12/04/2008
Better than reeses peanut butter cups. I also used wax paper and put information technology out on a cutting lath to cut into squares. I too cooled and stored in the fridge cause it was taking awhile to gear up. Turned out great and very rich/sweet.
03/16/2010
Much like a slightly firmer peanut butter cup. These bars blend chocolate and peanut butter quite well without being over poweringly sweet. Fifty-fifty ameliorate the next day!
03/fourteen/2017
Lazy human being's way to make peanut butter Buckeyes. I halved the recipe just not sure that I should have halved the chocolate. They will still disappear even though they are not the original buckeye and not as chocolately.
08/fifteen/2016
I made this because my wife and I were craving chocolate and peanut butter, and this looked like an easy recipe. We were not disappointed! I cutting the recipe in half and used an 8x8 pan, and that turned out great. I used the microwave to melt the butter and the chocolate chips, so no hot stove or oven at all. The hardest part was waiting for information technology to cool! It came out just like nosotros both wanted information technology to, a perfect remainder of peanut butter and chocolate flavors, and it held together pretty well. Incidentally, because what we had was chunky peanut butter, that's what I used, and the peanuts weren't very noticeable, so it will work well with mesomorphic equally well as flossy.
12/06/2017
The flavor was skilful. The peanut butter layer was likewise soft and didn't stand up to being removed from the pan without smooshing or mis-shaping from the spatula. The peak layer cracked rather than cutting. I did not make adaptations, followed the recipe exactly.
05/23/2013
These were much richer than I had hoped, like eating a reeses pb loving cup..I was looking for a lighter pb taste, so I will go on looking through the other recipes.
xi/05/2015
I cut bars immediately subsequently frosting , then refridgerate, this saves alot of headaches later on.
02/04/2010
super yum!
05/16/2007
I have made these confined a few times and they are always a hit. Simple to make and they taste great. Thanks for sharing
09/fourteen/2008
YUMMMM!!! This is so rich and peanut-buttery!! It is smooth and creamy with a melt in your oral cavity texture! ane tip for storage: Store this in the refrigerator for best results, but let warm upwardly slightly before cutting so the chocolate doesn't crack. Overall, this was AMAZING!! Better than REESE'southward peanut butter cups!
04/02/2015
Fantabulous! I used powdered stevia instead of the sugar just did use the brown sugar besides. I as well used chunky peanut butter and made chocolate frosting out of coconut oil, honey and cocoa powder. Volition exist making this again!
05/06/2010
I'd give this more than 5 stars if I could. These are and then good. Have made them several times at present and they are e'er a hitting! I practise add a couple of tablespoons of shortening to the chocolate to get in smooth. They are so easy to make and only delicious! Update: I take been using 1/2 polish, one/2 crunchy Pb for some added texture. Since this dries that layer out some, I add 2 tablespoonfuls more butter and they are perfectly smooth. Also, for the slap-up problem on the chocolate layer, try adding a few tablespoons of Pb to that layer besides. YUM!
